Brain Food Wednesdays: Don’t Just Compete With AI—Outthink It

Dear Reader,

Welcome to another edition of Brain Food Wednesdays, your weekly intellectual feast. In this edition, issue 265, you’ll learn how not to become obsolete because of AI.

Daniel Priestley recently introduced me to a new term: FOBO—Fear of Being Obsolete. It struck a chord. That quiet worry that all the time, energy, and care you’ve put into mastering your skills might not be enough in a rapidly evolving world.

Separately, I attended the Mindvalley AI Summit over the weekend. What stood out wasn’t fear—it was humility. There’s still so much I don’t know about AI, and I have work to do if I want to keep up.

Both sources, distinct but valuable, emphasized this: the path forward isn’t stockpiling knowledge; it’s staying adaptable.

Three important points:

  1. Start experimenting. You’re not late. Use AI now to understand its strengths—and your own.
  2. Focus on the human edge. Your lived experience, ethical lens, and capacity to connect ideas remain irreplaceable.
  3. Practice regenerative learning. Learn, unlearn, relearn—again and again.

Above all, intersection thinking may be your greatest advantage. It’s the ability to draw insight from multiple fields and create something new—something AI can’t predict.

So here’s your mental snack for the week:

What’s one insight from a different domain you can apply today?

Join the Art of Learning Leadership Academy to start your intersection thinking journey today!
